The following is a list of current vacancies for the Belleview Soccer Club Board of Directors. Interested people may submit a letter of interest either via email to info@belleviewsoccerclub.com or via US mail to:

All letters of interest must be received no later than Friday, May 14, 2021. We are not responsible for lost/late submissions. Candidates will be scheduled for an interview during the week of May 17, 2021. All of these positions are volunteer positions as our Club bylaws do not permit paid positions.


Secretary

The Secretary is an Officer of the Club in addition to a Director/Board Member and reports to the Club President.

The following are the responsibilities of the Secretary:

  • Read and submit for approval the minutes of the previous meeting, be responsible for all official Club correspondence and will retain a record of all such correspondence, and pick up Club mail from post office box as needed.
  • Give the photographer a copy of the game schedule so they can create a time schedule for the assigned day of pictures.
  • Create and print all materials necessary to run the soccer program. An inkjet printer and supplies will be provided by the Club.
  • As a Director/Board Member, assists the other board members with various duties and tasks such as but not limited to unlocking the fields, nets, concession stand, equipment shed and bathrooms, helping to place and retrieve flags and signs on game day, acting as a team official when interacting with coaches, parents, players and referees, and participating in club functions such as but not limited to in-person sign-up days, coaches and parent meetings, clean-up days and field marking days.

The ideal candidate is an organized person who can keep up with the documentation of the meetings, and has good communication skills. Per the Club bylaws, an attendance at 75% of the meetings as well as 75% of the Club events (games, clean-up days, etc.) is required.


Registrar

The Registrar is a Director/Board Member and reports to the Club Officers.

The following are the responsibilities of the Registrar:

  • Be responsible for submitting all player and coach registration information to FYSA
  • Collect & verify all player Birth Certificates as obtained at registration.
  • Verify all coaches, assistant coaches and other members/staff have completed an annual background check and the online Risk Management Certification successfully.
  • Maintain a detailed record of all registered members.
  • Submit a record of registration to President and Treasurer.
  • Inform Director of Coaches and Director of Safety of any significant medical condition a player has. (e.g., diabetes, allergies to bee stings, etc.).
  • Helps people having issues registering players.
  • As a Director/Board Member, assists the other board members with various duties and tasks such as but not limited to unlocking the fields, nets, concession stand, equipment shed and bathrooms, helping to place and retrieve flags and signs on game day, acting as a team official when interacting with coaches, parents, players and referees, and participating in club functions such as but not limited to in-person sign-up days, coaches and parent meetings, clean-up days and field marking days.

The ideal candidate is a person who has basic computer skills (data entry and retrieval using TeamSnap and GotSoccer/GotSport), is good at problem-solving and has a desire to help people. Per the Club bylaws, an attendance at 75% of the meetings as well as 75% of the Club events (games, clean-up days, etc.) is required.


Director of Safety

The Director of Safety is a Director/Board Member and reports to the Club Officers.

The following are the responsibilities of the Director of Safety:

  • Be responsible for coordinating volunteers to set up & take down canopies (if needed).
  • Ensure that all goals are staked down prior to start of games.
  • Make sure all participants and coaches are adhering to BSC safety rules while on the fields.
  • Notify Director of Equipment and Fields about unsafe field conditions such as holes in the playing areas.
  • Recommend to the Board any improvements relating to the safety of the players, coaches, spectators, and staff.
  • As a Director/Board Member, assists the other board members with various duties and tasks such as but not limited to unlocking the fields, nets, concession stand, equipment shed and bathrooms, helping to place and retrieve flags and signs on game day, acting as a team official when interacting with coaches, parents, players and referees, and participating in club functions such as but not limited to in-person sign-up days, coaches and parent meetings, clean-up days and field marking days.

The ideal candidate is a person who is a self-starter and is familiar with developing safety procedures. First-aid and CPR training (or higher) is highly desirable. Knowledge of the FYSA and US Soccer rules as they pertain to the safety of the players is desirable. Per the Club bylaws, an attendance at 75% of the meetings as well as 75% of the Club events (games, clean-up days, etc.) is required.


Director of Public Relations

The Director of Public Relations is a Director/Board Member and reports to the Club Officers.

The following are the responsibilities of the Director of Public Relations:

  • Release or distribute any information on Club sponsored events to the news media in the form of a Press Release or other means as needed.
  • Produce and distribute the Club newsletter.
  • Maintain the Club Website and social media pages.
  • Publicize registration activities to the community at large in coordination with the Director of Sponsorships.
  • Be responsible to distribute all Sponsor Plaques and certificates to sponsors.
  • Coordinate & oversee all club fundraisers with Director of Sponsorships.
  • Turn in and report all funds from club fundraisers (at conclusion) to the club Treasurer.
  • Coordinate with the Secretary on letters of appreciation to all sponsors, volunteers, and patrons.
  • As a Director/Board Member, assists the other board members with various duties and tasks such as but not limited to unlocking the fields, nets, concession stand, equipment shed and bathrooms, helping to place and retrieve flags and signs on game day, acting as a team official when interacting with coaches, parents, players and referees, and participating in club functions such as but not limited to in-person sign-up days, coaches and parent meetings, clean-up days and field marking days.

The ideal candidate is a person who is a self-starter and has good communication skills. Familiarity with social media (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) is desirable. Familiarity with WordPress is desirable but not required. Web site design experience is desirable but not required. Per the Club bylaws, an attendance at 75% of the meetings as well as 75% of the Club events (games, clean-up days, etc.) is required.
